New work from John Blanche #8

John has kindly sent through two shots of a Nurgle mutant mini.

His work is, as ever, amazing. The scheme of complementary umbers give an antique aspect to the shambling entity. The bleeding reds of his skin are offset by the putrid green verdigris of the brass instrument housings. There are some wonderful details to what is in some ways quite a simple sculpt - the slight yellowing of the scabrous pustules and the purity seal tucked over the armpit.

Hallowe'en is coming so this monstrosity is strangely apt!

  1. He uses quite a limited palette, doesn't he? I need to try that some time.

  2. Saw this one 'in the flesh' the other day. A wonderful and characterful piece and that flesh just looks painful...

  6. I would have to agree with okkiW - these along with the one off Blanchitsu articles form a part of me regular viewing in my inspiration folder! On that note when will you grade the pages of White Dwarf again?

Certainly encourages me to be more adventurous.
